This is the second update in the series of regular updates you will now receive on the 2008 ACS Crossroads Conference being held in the Caribbean!
First I would like to remind everyone to register as soon as possible before May15 when the early bird registration period ends. Please note that notification emails regarding the applications for assistance are currently being processed. We apologise for the delay and any inconvenience caused.
Now that we are about to publish the programme book please send us your final panel updates if you have not already done so immediately. Remember that your registration will help someone who is less fortunate than yourself to participate in the conference!
For those who have booked campus accommodation the absolute deadline for payment is June 15 (unless you have made prior arrangements) and this is what is equired. Payments are to be submitted by money order made out to the Lodgings Section, University of the West Indies, Mona Campus. This should be mailed to the Secretariat. The mailing address is as follows:
ACS Crossroads 2008 Conference Secretariat
C/O Institute of Caribbean Studies
University of the West Indies, Mona Campus
Kingston 7
Jamaica, Caribbean
Please check the website frequently for announcements or vital information. For example, how many of you knew that Turks do not require visas to visit Jamaica? Check it for yourself at: http://www.congenjamaica-ny.org/visas.htm
All this and more can be viewed at the conference site in the 'practical info. for delegates' link at: http://www.crossroads2008.org/practical-information-for-delegates.html
